JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for championing the interests and
objectives of business owners within IT. A BA identifies, designs, and
facilitates the application of technology in support of business
processes. Candidates must be able to communicate with business owners, users
and IT professionals with equal ease to create and preserve the functional
integrity of the solution. Incumbents must have complete familiarity with the
technologies and applications available to the company, and a deep understanding
of the businesses they support. This role serves as facilitator, analyst,
designer and problem solver. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to
operate in a team environment are essential, as are outstanding documentation,
presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Work closely and interact directly with
business owners and IT staff to
identify, rationalize and document
business requirements; then design and
document practical, useful, and cost
effective solutions in the form of
functional specifications which become
the basis for development and testing.

Partner with the business to meet their
needs and build strong
relationships

Conduct analysis that
identifies current and future state
business processes

Make process improvement and systems
enhancement recommendations, leveraging
best practices and professional
experience

Obtain and maintain a deep understanding
of the company's online applications,
customers and business processes within
the areas they support

Maintain high levels of customer service
at all times

Conduct application design sessions and
moderate other discussions as necessary

Work with delivery managers to
communicate project status and issues to
business owners

Work with delivery managers to manage
individual work load and assist with
defining and prioritizing project tasks

Work effectively on multiple
assignments, activities or projects

Collaborate closely with and assist
application development teams and other
IT partners when required to ensure the
functional integrity of project
deliverables

Work with project teams to develop
detailed specifications for application
functionality

Serve as the functionality expert while
actively participating in testing,
training, and user documentation
development

Assist other Business Analysts as needed
or required

Work with BA Center of Excellent leaders
to assemble and maintain a library of
model documents, templates, best
practices, and other re-usable knowledge
assets.
